YAH: Sheet Music Art

I'm finally back! This "new mom" thing sure is exhausting, but I did manage to make something for the nursery. I've always loved Beethoven's Für Elise, and although that's not why we named our daughter Elise, I thought it would be fun to make a piece of art out of the music. Also, I played that piece on the piano for her the night before I was to be induced, hoping she'd come on her own. (It didn't work.) This is a quick and easy project. You'll need stretched canvas (mine was 8x10), a sheet of music, a brush (I used a foam brush), glue and water or Mod Podge.
I decided I wanted a rough edge to my music, so I tore the paper on all four sides.
I didn't have Mod Podge so I mixed some Elmer's glue and water together in a little cup and then used the foam brush to paint the mixture over the entire surface of the canvas.
Then I placed the paper on top and painted another layer of the glue mixture.
I got a few wrinkles and bubbles, but I liked that. I actually wish there were more.
For now it's resting on top of some shelves in the nursery, but I will hang it on the wall eventually.
I have a few more projects planned and I want to get them done before I start pounding nails into the walls. I'll be back (hopefully soon) to share those other projects with you!
